One of the things I love about Ivy Haldeman is the way she lets you know that the world isn’t quite what it seems. Everything is recognizable as you try to figure out why something out of context feels uncomfortably heavy. Has something ominous happened to the person once wearing the floating bikinis? Closing in on the men in suits, should we assume they are brokering a deal for peace or readying for war?
