Freedom is a term we often use when trying to explain the essence of a good painter, or a good artist in general; that they show a sense of freedom, of an originality that makes their art feel fresh, or just plain exhilarating. It’s an ownership of self and the ability to express one’s consciousness in a pure way. While I think the word is overused, speaking with Jameson Green gave me a new perspective on what it means to have freedom in making art.
