We love when a Radio Juxtapoz alum makes his way across to (one) of our neck of the woods, and we have been anticipating London-based Nigel Howlett’s new solo show, Means of Opposites, opening at Anat Ebgi in Los Angeles. In an era where it seems like so many conversations are talking about the challenges, reasoning and permutations of AI technology in our daily lives, Howlett’s work appears to have a mechanical, post-human characteristic. But the highly-detailed, monochromatic works are very much of the human hand, inspired by 12th century Persian poems and Picasso.
