Martine Johanna’s newest exhibition explores the relationship between public perception and private self-image. With a focus on the role of women in society, her work balances surrealist abstraction with complex narratives, drawing inspiration from her childhood and media. For these seven new paintings Johanna drew inspiration from Titian’s Venus with a Mirror and invites viewers to contemplate the relationship between beauty, personality, and gender.
