With the election coming up, you almost forget there is a haunting vibe a week before. The exhibition is titled I Want Your Skull and will run October 19th through November 9th at our friends The Trophy Room. The crux of the show is the Skull or skeleton. More specifically, Memento mori (Latin for “remember (that you have) to die”) is an artistic or symbolic trope acting as a reminder of the inevitability of death. The most common motif is a skull, often accompanied by bones. Frequently, this alone is enough to evoke the trope, but other motifs include a coffin, hourglass, or wilting flowers to signify the impermanence of life. This theme, while sobering,  is also a powerful inspiration for artistic expression.
